Anna Nunes (1993) is a Dutch-Portuguese artist, working and living in the Netherlands. Due to her degree in Biology and her family’s background in international development aid, she has come since a young age into contact with a variety of communities across the African continent. These experiences play a crucial role in her creative production. In her artworks she refers to her encounters with different local communities and explores the possibilities of making her memories and emotions as tangible as possible. On canvas she recreates her own world in which positive feelings and encounters dominate her reality. Through making art, Anna wants to inspire people with the goodness that exists in the whole of mankind as she has experienced it herself. A statement in which she stimulates mutual respect for all people.
