For Laura van Daalen (1995), the landscape is a recurring theme. Laura is a visual artist who graduated from the academy of the arts in Utrecht in 2019. Currently she is studying the research Master ‘Artistic Research’ at the UvA. Laura creates minimal landscapes through printing and painting, in which few characteristics are highlighted. The produced image leaves out certain details and brings composition and color as close together as possible. The artist creates work with in mind the notion of the Anthropocene. No untouched nature is left. When looking around, everything is designed. The artist is creating her own landscape in which one can wonder if an artificial constructed painting is actually more different than the nature around us.
